Fabula: Consumer
Media and Contemporary Art
December 9, 2000- April 8, 2001
This exhibition explored the commingling of art, commerce and creative expression
through a group of artists who address such issues as consumerism, product
display, advertising and the retail industry. Artists included Art Club 2000,
Vanessa Beecroft, Sylvie Fleury, Tom Sachs, H.N. Semjon and Masato Nakamura.
In addition to including sculpture, installation, photography and video works
by these national and international artists, Fabula featured recreations of
a number of window and in-store merchandise displays by retail stores including
Daimler Chrysler, Nieman Marcus, Target Stores and Tiffany & Co.
