in 1930, the Art Deco-style Saarinen House served as the home and studio
of Finnish-American architect, Eliel Saarinen, Cranbrooks resident
architect from 1925 to 1950, and his wife Loja Saarinen, head of Studio
Loja Saarinen and the Academys Department of Weaving. Learn about
the Saarinens roles within Cranbrook and take an up-close look
at their restored home and garden.
A 90-minute guided tour is available from May to October as either a
walk-in tour or private tour.

Walk-in tours
Hours:
Thursday Sunday at 1 pm with additional tours offered at 3 pm
on Saturday and Sunday; twilight tours at 6:30 pm on Fourth Fridays.

Adults $9
Seniors (65+) $8
Full-time students $6
Children 12 and under and artmembers continue to be free.
Notes:
Walk-in tours are limited to 12 people. Tickets are available for purchase
on the day of the tour only from the front desk of Cranbrook Art Museum
which opens at 11 am. Credit cards are not accepted. Ability to negotiate
stairs and inclines necessary. Some outdoor walking included in tour.
Private group tours
Available to groups of 6 or more with a 2 week advance reservation at
$12 per adult and senior, $10 per student. To book a private group tour
